Having lived in Africa for 15 years i know the kind of turmoil you feel and will experience there. I don't know what it is about Africa - it has a power to change you... it opens windows into humanity that so often remain closed living in North America. I think Africa reveals the totality of the human condition - within moments you will see persons behaving in tune with how we should as created in the image of God and the next moment another person behaving in such an evil way. In Africa you see such incredible affluence and around the corner etreme poverty, death, disease, and hoplessness. It is a continent the world has forgotten and sometimes... i wonder if the greater part of the African population is still in slavery to western values, western ideology, even the western $.

Jamie - one thing i struggled with in living in Africa was my identity on so many levels. I was Canadian born in America - my passport told me so but i was truly African. I was a missionary kid, pastors kid, white in black culture, home was Africa yet it wasn't home, my friends were African yet i knew i would not spend my life there. I wonder if you too may not be facing an identity crisis at some level.

You can be assured that we will be praying for you.
